Traditionally before blackthorn became the main wood of choice for shillelaghs, oak was used. Irish oak is also a dense hardwood and makes a beautiful shillelagh or walking stick. This was make from one piece, we don’t attach the handles like other stick makers or make sticks in two pieces. This walking stick was hand carved from one piece of wood.
